Our
purpose is to continue to serve the brotherhood of the
Suffolk County Police Department, SCPD Alumni Association in Spring Hill, Florida, is a nonprofit association of law enforcement
retirees.
Listed below are the recipients and their sponsors of this year’s John Barry Scholarship awards. We wish to thank all those members of our association who donated to this fund, without whose help these annual scholarship awards would not be possible.
Elizabeth Wagner, granddaughter of James Woods, is the recipient of the first $1000 Scholarship Award.
Michael Hempfling, grandson of William Lankenan, is the recipient of the second $1000 Scholarship Award.
Aidan Dempsey, grandson of John O’Connor, is the recipient of the third $1000 Scholarship Award.
Jake Walch, grandson of Robert Walch, is the recipient of the fourth $1000 Scholarship Award.
Nichole Arceri, granddaughter of Thomas Arceri, is the recipient of the fifth $1000 Scholarship Award.
Helping Our Brothers and
Sisters
As
retired law enforcement officers from Suffolk County, Long Island, the
primary focus of our organization is the communications and networking
of its members.
These
endeavors include the sponsorship and promotion of social events for
its members. In addition, college
scholarshipsare awarded
annually to our members’ children, grandchildren, and great
grandchildren. We
also maintain a strategic alliance with the Suffolk County Police
Historical Society.
